CASTETS-EN-DORTHE (Castets-en-Dorthe: boarding from 3pm)

Arrival in Bordeaux and optional transfer to your hotel boat, the MSBORDEAUX. After taking possession of your cabin, this early cruise is an opportunity to discover the Canal d’entre-deux mers, this region also called “Petite Hollande” with its cycle path, walnut trees and kiwi orchards. Before dinner, a welcome cocktail awaits you on board with a presentation of the crew. This first meal will allow you to appreciate the quality of the cuisine served on board and our selection of wines among the best in the region.

Located on the edge of the Landes forest between Bordeaux and Toulouse, in a magnificent setting with panoramic views of Lake Clarens and its castle, Golf de Casteljaloux is one of the most beautiful golf courses in Aquitaine. This 18-hole par 72 golf course, slightly modified in 2006 and brought to a length of 6007 metres, is partly designed in a pine forest with undulating fairways and raised greens. The 18-hole course and its panoramic views of the lake and the nearby Landes forest offer a pleasant golf course for players of all levels. In the late afternoon, the tour continues by boat, along the Garonne River to reach Loupiac near Cadillac.

After dinner you will have the opportunity to take a short walk to the Château du Cros where the Boyer family, owner for 4 generations, welcomes you with the possibility of a tasting visit. You have been going back in history since 1196 when Richard the Lionhearted gave a fiefdom, the Domaine du Cros, to Sieur Boson de Casau…

During this stopover, explore the regions of Sauternes and Graves, the cradle of Bordeaux’s vineyards where wine and heritage discovery are combined at all times. Le Golf des Graves and du Sauternais offers you a magnificent 18-hole course. Wooded, with many bodies of water, it is a par 72 that does not let itself be fooled. On the way back, you pass in front of the prestigious Château d’Yquem, Château de Suduiraut, Château Guiraud, Clos Haut Peyraguey and many others. On simple request in advance, your minibus stops to allow you a tasting visit of your choice. The route then follows the winding banks of the Ciron River, whose icy waters flow into the warmer waters of the Garonne, an alchemy that allows the development of Botrytis Cynerea, the famous mushroom that produces this world-famous sweet wine.

On board, sail on the Garonne River towards the majestic city of Bordeaux. You face the most prestigious panorama of the region: the “Port de la lune” with its sumptuous 18th century facades; the Stone Bridge, the Place de la Bourse and the Quai des Chartrons.

120 hectares of pine forest, the course of Pessac, rather flat, is intelligently punctuated by water obstacles and well-designed holes. Don’t lose too many strokes on the wide fairways because the greens that await you are famous throughout the region for their quality and their tortured and generous curves. The boat stays docked in Bordeaux for the evening, it is the opportunity to discover this city whose heart is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Everywhere in Bordeaux, opportunities for visits and shopping abound. A memory break is easy to improvise.

A parade of architectural jewels leads you through the historic streets, monuments and hidden places of the city: the royal entrance to the city (La Porte Cailhau), the Tour de Pey Berlan, the Golden Triangle, the Girondins column, the water mirror, the Capuchin market, the Saint-Michel basilica, the very offbeat Darwin Ecosystem, from where the view of the Bordeaux quays is magnificent.

Brasserie du Relais de Margaux open for lunch

Morning sailing, we leave Bordeaux for the Médoc peninsula. Located in the heart of the famous Margaux vineyard and bordering the Gironde estuary, this 18-hole course is modelled on the Relais de Margaux estate. The 45 hectares of the course blend harmoniously into a landscape imbued with the serenity of this traditional land. The route begins in the forest, its fairways lined with elms and oaks open onto the Gironde. The 18 holes are quite technical but you have to see the extraordinary spectacle of the green of n°12 surrounded by the rising tide or the superb view that the 7th hole offers on the estuary. This escapade in the Médoc allows you to see prestigious châteaux such as Margaux, Maucaillou, Poujeaux, Rauzan Ségla, Palmer, Issan, Kirwan and other Grands Crus classés. According to prior request (and speed on the green!), you will have the possibility of a tasting visit to Château Lamothe Bergeron or Prieuré Lichine, Crus Bourgeois and Grand Cru classé in 1855, where wine and tourism are highly valued.

At the end of the day, you can enjoy a dinner cruise up the wide estuary to the other side of the Gironde sur Bourg, a village built on a rocky promontory overlooking the small port and offering you a breathtaking view of the Estuary.

Dive into the heart of nature

2 18-hole courses, la Jalle and les Etangs, are a real green setting. With its 36 holes offering great diversity, it will seduce players of all levels… This stopover offers an undulating landscape covered with endless vineyards, dotted with castles, picturesque villages and elegant monuments such as their churches steeped in history. Back in Bourg, the typical wash-house near the port allows you to refresh yourself after your day trip. The historic village also attracts the greatest interest for a visit “Following in the footsteps of Louis XIV”, with numerous tasting opportunities. In the evening, the MS Bordeaux will sail towards Libourne/Fronsac.

It is a Par 68 composed of 6 pars 3, 8 pars 4 and 4 pars 5. The course is not very long but it is hilly with wide fairways, from the beginner to the experienced golfer, everyone can spend a pleasant moment on this golf course designed between vineyards and forests. The practice of 14 posts including 7 covered posts and the putting green complete the installations. On the way back, the stopover of the day is the famous vineyards of Pomerol and Saint-Émilion. A UNESCO World Heritage Site village where you can discover a unique view of the medieval streets and surrounding vineyards, the monolithic church and the gentle way of life. You have a glimpse of the most famous Châteaux of Saint-Émilion and Pomerol: Angelus and his carillon, Beauséjour, Ausone, Cheval Blanc, La Dominique, Clos La Madeleine, Bel Air, Monange, Laroque, Fombrauge, Grand Corbin, Gazin, Petrus…

Day 8 (Saturday)

Libourne: Disembarkation & transfer back to Bordeaux

After your last breakfast on board, it was time to say goodbye. Disembarkation and return transfer by bus (optional) previously agreed behind the St-Jean train station in Bordeaux, are before 09h30.


  • Tour and accommodation on board in the reserved category for 8 days / 7 nights (Saturday-Saturday);
  • Golf course with pre-booking, and admission fee
  • Transport to the planned and reserved golf courses;
  • Other transfers to optional visits including 3 entries to the châteaux with wine tastings included
  • Daily cleaning of the cabin; towels can be changed every day;
  • Welcome drink, presentation of the boat and crew and briefing on the first evening;
  • Captain’s cocktail party at the end of the cruise.
  • Free coffee and tea every day until 4pm.
  • Bus transfers: round trip: Saturday – 14h00 from the meeting point behind St Jean de Bordeaux station to MSBordeaux on Castets-en-Dorthe or Libourne / Saturday – 9h00 from the boat to the station (transfer time: 1 hour each)

Bike option

Subject to the sufficient quantity available, we can offer you the rental of bicycles on the desired days.

The rental is made directly on board the boat, during the cruise.

From one week to the next, the cruise is in the opposite direction.
